Redesigning Panviva’s Website and Content University

Before Panviva was acquired by Upland, I had the chance to lead the redesign of its public website and Panviva Content University, the education hub for customers and partners. The challenge was simple to explain but complex to solve: the experience felt dated, the structure was confusing, and users struggled to find the information they needed.

Starting with Discovery

I kicked things off with discovery sessions that brought together both internal teams and customers. These conversations quickly revealed some recurring themes. People often felt lost when navigating the site, content was buried under too many layers, and the interface no longer reflected the innovative nature of Panviva’s product.

To explore this further, I introduced card sorting and hierarchical analysis exercises. These helped us see how users naturally grouped content and gave us the clarity we needed to understand where the current information architecture was breaking down.

Shaping the Structure

From there, we rebuilt the site map and navigation model to better reflect how people actually wanted to use the site. I worked closely with stakeholders to validate these changes and made sure the new structure aligned to both customer needs and business goals.

Designing the Interface

Once the structure was in place, I turned my attention to the look and feel. The aim was to create an interface that felt modern and intuitive without overwhelming users. I sketched early ideas, translated them into wireframes, and then into clickable prototypes. Each round of design was tested with users and reviewed with internal teams, which allowed us to refine the details while keeping the bigger picture in sight.

The process of design, feedback, and refinement helped us strike the right balance between aesthetics and usability. We introduced cleaner typography, a more intuitive layout, and a consistent visual system that made the experience flow more smoothly from page to page.

The Outcome

The redesign gave Panviva a digital presence that was both engaging and easy to use. Customers could now access learning resources without frustration, while the updated interface presented a fresh, professional image that matched the strength of the product.

For me, this project was a strong reminder that when you pair solid information architecture with thoughtful, iterative design, the result is an experience that not only looks better but works better too.
